Late Nineties 11/2/10

Tuesday 10:30
Del Close Theater

Again, not an accurate report from Reckoning Night of shows due to Reckoning pre-show gathering. I came in to the other Harold Team's show about 13 minutes into the show. We could hear the audience’s reactions from the green room and already that was telling. Without getting into too much praise, I enjoyed the swift game moves in scenes, the playful imaginative world, and their use of emotions.

Example of which was a moment where a woman was getting implants. The character was played with some real emotional consideration for this life changing moment. There was also quiet group-support going on. Silently people inhabited objects in the environment including two players as the two implants. I liked how the the silent players moved swiftly without hesitation. Eye contact and move. Yet there was still give and take between the group-support and the main character of the scene. They let the tension build, then an imaginative shift as the implants began to talk to the woman, demanding to be shown “to the world”. I liked that departure from the already interesting improvised status quo of the scene. I liked the arc of the scene from uncertain boob buyer to confident proclamations.
